This book I'm going to talk about is by Deborah Ellis. Its about a girl named Parvana who is in search of her father. It took place in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul. There is a war in Kabul by which they are suffering.
This book is quit nice and interesting and I recommend that you read this book because it makes you know what sufferings people have by the wars. By reading this book it may lead you to a good desisions by not having wars.So hurry up because this book is waiting for you to pick it up and read it.

Our teacher read this book last year, and, to me and the rest of the class, it sort of droned on and on, not really going anywhere. Then, to my horror, after we finished reading that book, the teacher read the sequel!

I didn't mind this book but it wasn't that good, I've read better, and I certainly don't think it should have won a award, it just guilt suckers you into licking it. so good, but not great.

This was a great book. The characters were very realistic. The rest of the series (Parvana's Journey and Mud City) were good too. If you liked this book, try reading Sacred Lead, it's also by Deborah Ellis. I think she's a great author.
