I Am the Cheese:

I am riding my bike on my way to Rutterburg, Vermont. That is the First line of the story written by Robert Cormier titled I Am the Cheese. It is the story of a boy on a long bike ride to visit his father in Vermont. His father is in the hospital in Vermont. This boys name is Adam Farmer. He starts his bike ride in Maine and continues through all the way on the roads to Vermont. Cities like Carver and Flemning.

There are a lot of characters in the story, but Adam is pretty much the only round character. Brint is a psychologist who helps Adam remember his past. Amy Hertz is Adams best friend and also his girlfriend. Amy and Adam go to places to play a game called Numbers. You can find out how to play if you read the book. There are many other characters that present obstacles he must overcome, but the only other character would be Mr. Grey. He is not a talkative person around Adam, but Adam thinks that his parents are hiding something from him.

The story takes place in October. It would be during the more recent times because there are cars and such. He makes it to Rutterburg, but there is something waiting for him. He eventually remembers his past, and this is the rising action. The resolution is exciting, but again, you'll have to read it to find out.

This books genre is mystery/adventure because his whole bike ride is an adventure and his past is a mystery he has to solve. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy finding out things that change the whole story slowly. The end is a little confusing though. I had to read it twice to fully understand it. The book was somewhat boring at first, but it got better.

the entire bike ride was a fastasy made up by Adam from his suroundings in the hospital.

I think the rating should be higher beacause it in my opinon was an awsome book!!! the story is a good mystery and has shoking points to it!!!

i dont get it. like wut happened to amy? she just suddenly disappeared and if that bike ride was just his imaginzation then were the phone calls real? and the last question is so gray was the bad guy?

i don't get it at all. to confusing to be good.

I am currently reading this book in English, and find the author gives little away at a time. He wants to kepp you guessing, not giving to much away atone time. I find the book confusing, but I think once I finish it, I might figure out how it all makes sense.. Like it will all click and I'll finally be able to get whats going on.

i think it is confuseing but the ending gives it all away

this book was really good, and it just makes the book 10 times beter when u have mrs merkle read it to u

I thought the book was confusing, I don't like the fact that the two stories in the story never really met up. Sure, they both happen in the hospital, but Adam seems like two different people. Did the two stories happen around the same time?

This was an awesome book some times it wasn't easy to folow but otherwise...
