The Lake House:

The Lake House is a movie that I have fondly renamed the Magic Mailbox. It is a romantic comedy that stars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. It portrays a lonely doctor (Sanda Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its former resident, a frustrated architect ( Keanu Reeves). They must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it's too late.

The calibur of actors is high yet they do not live up to expectations. One of Keanu's worst performances since A Walk in the Clouds. Sanada Bullock mirrors that poor performance with her own. In a very romantic lip-locking scene she almost seems to pull away from Reeves in disgust.

All in all, it is worth seeing just for the Magic Mailbox.

This movie is extremely good. It has a lot of meaning and is very well written. I haven't seen a movie quite as good in a long time. I advise anyone to see it if your wanting to watch a brilliant drama romantic!!!!!! Love it

I recently saw the movie. I enjoyed it. The only thing I can't wrap my mind around is---when did Alex make the resturaunt reservation? He said it was for 2 yrs and 1 day. Therefore he should have made the reservation Feb 14, 2004 (his time) because 2 yrs later on Feb 14, 2006 he died and did not show up at the restuarant. Here's my confussion---If she started coresponding with him Feb 15, 2006 right after she witnessed his death (and it is Feb 14,2004 his time) then he should have already made the reservations for the restuarant. When they start writing to each other she talks about a snow storm in April. It seems that they don't make plans to meet until a couple of months or so pass. Therefore, how can he have made the reservations. Does any of this make sense to anyne else. Everything else I understand (the 4 yrs that pass) but I want to know how he can make reservations for 2 yrs ahead when he would have just started writing to her.

First I'd like to say that I live in London too! London Ontario.

My mother saw it and said it wasn't great, so I don't think I'll watch it.
