The Corpse Bride:

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride is the timeless tale of tragedy, compassion, and love beyond the grave. the movie tells the story of the clumsy and tactless Victor van Dort (johmmy Depp), who is bethrothed by his equally as tactless and snobby parents to the penniless noble, Victoria Everglot. When Victor makes a complete mess of the wedding rehearsal, lighting his futture mother in law's dress on fire in the process, the uptight pastor banishes him to the woods until he can learn his vows. He recites his vows perfectly after practicing for hours and is so caught up in the moment of triumph that he places his ring on a seeming ly dead twig. The dead twig is actually the finger of the unfortunate Emily, the title character. She whisks him off to the Land of the Dead, where Victor learns his kidnappers tragic story. Meanwhile, in the Land of the Living, Victoria's parents are restless. they decide to marry Victoria to Barkis Bittern, a mysterious stranger , who's not all thast he seems. back in the Land of the Dead, Victor tells the Corpse Bride that he would never marry a dead woman, and after Emily stomps off, he relizes that he's really stuck here and that the Corpse Bride isn't that bad. He agrees to properly marry her, in the Land of the Living. The dead decide that they all want to be part of the wedding, and the following scenes depict mass chaos above. Then the living realize that the dead aren't vicious, brain-hungry creatures, but friends and family. In the end, it all turns out alright. We meet Emily's killer, and she sets herself free from her self-inflicted curse. Victor and Victoria marry, and we see that love perserveres through all, even death. what i love about this movie is the sets, and the animation process. the characters look vibrant, and alive, and the contrast between the bright, vibrant Land of the Dead, and the lifeless Land of the Living helped the story along enormouseley. The story was captivating, and the movie overall was captivating. If my parents had let mae, i would watch this movie forever.

Caution: this movie may be little much for the little ones, as there is some scary scenes in it( thuogh not too scary). the best part about the movie is that i expected to fear the Corpse Bride, but i ended up caring about her. she was such a sweet, sensitive character. in ending(finally!, the crowd groans), iwould have one more thing to say about this film: THIS MOVIE ROCKS!!!!
