the book is the chrysalids and its about a boy growing up in a society where deformation is shamed and called diveant, then he discovers that he and his friends have a secret of their own which they must keep hidden for fear of being castout.
the book is a fabulous example of the ignorance of others and hatred against those who are different and how we must all open our hearts.
suggested for ages 12 up

I also thought that the Chrysalids, which is an awesome book, was about how hypocritical people are. So many people not only feel it is their right to criticize others, but sometimes even when they themselves are doing the very thing that they are criticizing.

I read this book in grade 10, years and years ago, and I still remember loving it!
It is a mix between the judgement of others and the future causes of environmental destruction and war. I loved it, I recommend it to anybody who just loves reading a good book!

I thought this book was a very suspenseful book. But since our teacher maks us do so much analysized it makes us feel like we wouldn't want to read the book. For one part of this project we have to find someone that is reconguzed in the feild of literature or academic standing and agree or disagree with what they thought about the book. So if you have a comment that longer then 1 or 2 sentences please post and i will be much appreicated! Thank you
