Hedley sucks, they sound just like simple plan, who just sounds like sum 41, its all a viscous cycle of immitation.

Okay, I have been a fan of Hedley, way before Jacob Hoggard (lead singer) was on Canadian Idol and before Tommy, Chris, and Dave. There songs are original, Jacob Hoggard wrote most of the songs when he was with the old band, He is a very talented, and has an amazing voice, one thing i don't like about them is how they act. AND HEDLEY SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE SIMPLE PLAN!!!!!!

Well I just want to say that I love the band Hedley because they are original, their lyrics really mean something and they have a lead signer who is very original. Jacob Hoggard is not trying to be someone he's not. He's just himself. Just plain funny and inspiring.

I bought this CD and I can tell you... not a lot of CDs can be enjoyed from start to finish. This one is definately one of the very few. LOVE THESE GUYS!!! :D

This is my OPINION and a very unbiased one at that.

I cannot stand HEDLEY. It's not that they are not talented. Hey, they are doing well for themselves. It's just that music has changed and I don't buy into it. HEDLEY seem to have the attitude where they feel part of their job as a rock band is to act like insane adolescents. I guess I'm targeting the singer here. Maybe that's really the way he is but to me he seems to think that that is part of rock and roll. He acts like a nut case because that's rock and roll and it creates an image for the band.

I guess my point is, let your music speak for itself. If it's good enough you'll be around for a long time. Mooning crowds, dressing as stupid as possible and acting like you're taking a seizure on stage is not rock n roll. Take it from real rockers like Slash, Aerosmith....etc. I mean why do you think Canadian bands like the Hip and Blue Rodeo are still touring and putting out albums 20 years later. Not because they all did drugs, drank a lot and did crazy things. It's because they write great music and that's what it boils down to.

I thought it was a well known fact that only girls ages 8-16 liked Hedley. "ZOMG I LUV HEDLEY HE IS SO HAWT AND ROX!!!!11" With a fan base like that, good luck with any plans for a long term career. Once they grow up a bit and move on to more talented artists, *POOF* there goes your 15 minutes of fame.

I saw Hedley live in West Edmonton mall in a promotion for The X, the old CBC teen's show. That was about 3 years ago!

Brokaloid is absolutely right about it all. Opening eyes wide (didn't GreenDay invent that like 10 years ago?) is not really a motivating act for getting rock enthusiasts like myself to listen to Hedley and take their lyrics seriously.

This is not for just Hedley but the whole punk rock scene that is coming out of the seems over the last couple of years: you basically suck. True, rock is about attitude, but it is also about the music. Hedley, and all the others like them need a whole new category for their stuff in our HMV's. Unintelligent rebellion fed by teeniboppers.

Ok... this is my two cents for this post. I can personally say that I love pretty much any genre of music. I usually go for the lyrics. If I love the lyrics and the air of a song, then I'll love the band. This does not mean I love all songs an artist puts out on a CD. But, I can honestly say that when Hedley put out their first CD I absolutely love it from start to finish. Then, I heard a few of the songs that was gonna be on the sencond album. I bought the second album the day it came out and loved it too. Very rare can I find a CD that I love from start to finish... but Hedley's two CD are great, in my opinion.

I don't think bad mouthing a band will make them fail. I mean, everyone one is entitled to their opinion. For me, Hedley is Canadian and their songs are good. I will keep supporting them, even if Jacob is a little crazy. That is what makes this band different from the others. He gives them a little flavor.

Hedley sucks, don't try and compare them to anything good please. If you want a live band, listen to Deep Purple's Made In Japan. You think three years is longevity?? Look at Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin. Sabbath is touring to arenas bigger than Hedley(40 years later), Purple is touring to arenas bigger than Hedley(40 years later), and the demand for a Zep reunion hasn't died over the last 30 years. Hedley is for 12 year old girls who drool over greasy posers who couldn't write an original song if their life depended on it. For those 12 yr old girls and troubled boys on here, look at Freddie Mercury of the good band "Queen". Jacob's appearance in the new video is a total ripoff of Freddie's in the mid-80's. For the guys out there, find a real band/album to listen to. Machine Head(DP), Made In Japan(DP), Physical Graffiti(Led Zep), and Paranoid by Sabbath. Love the good bands while they're still around before settling for mediocore record company produced radio pop station garbage!

Hedley's target audience is not children. I know many teenagers as well as adults who enjoy their music. While their songs do show that they were inspired by older artists, that does not mean they are any less of a band. I am not dissing any other bands or artists by saying this, only defending Hedley. Yes, they have only been around for a few years, but they are still growing as a band and trying different styles of music. Their music IS real music and the lyrics are real. They are based on past experiences of the band members, and i think that everybody is able to relate to at least one of their songs. I relise that everybody is entitled to an opinion, and that is just mine.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. ive been a huge Hedley fan for years now, and first of all, they sound NOTHING like simpleplan. Hedley actually writes meaningful music and each song actually has a different meaning. unlike simpleplan where every song is about having girl problems, friend problems.

you think hedley's lyrics are bad? try rhyming "can't obliterate this battle station with a stunning lack of wit and imagination" only people with BRAINS like Jake, Dave, Tom & Chris can write stuff like that. and not only are they amazing at what they do, they are amazing people as well.

Why is it that you people who dislike Hedley are on a Hedley thread? Cool, now that we have that setteled, Hedley is not just for children and teens I know lots of adults who also listen to them. How do you think other bands that have made it big started out? With teenage listeners! I know many kids who listen to AC DC and Led Zepplin, so why aren't they considered childrens bands too? Also what is this about not liking how Jacob owns the stage with his high energy? I'm sorry but seriously being at a concert where the band has a lot of energy makes the show. Why would you want to go and see some band that just stays in one general spot? I mean pulling off the stuff Hedley does while still sounding amazing? That is pure talent. I have seen The Rolling Stones, AC DC, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Rush and more live and yeh there good but too me it makes the show when you can see the bands having fun! I've seen Hedley twice and can honestly say they are amazing live and manage to make every show different! There CD's are some of the few that I can listen to over and over without getting sick of them.

It doesnt change his music. He has a lot of energy and most bands dont. Most of the time bands just stand there and sing , and by Jacob jumping around to give more energy to the crowd makes it more energetic and it doesnt change how amazing their music is.

I am deeply saddened by all the above listed comments that the "musical group " "Hedley" contains any talent whatsoever. I should hope that none will ever mistake this disgrace to rock and roll for original work. As a previous writer stated, they copy bands that are bad anyway. HEDLEY ROCKS. all of you can just stop dissing them. they have very good music that some people can really connect to. they do not sound like simple plan or Sum41 because unlike these groups Hedley DOES have talent. Jacob has an amazing voice and they write all of their own songs. They are a great band and all of you who are saying they suck are just jealouse they are so good and are beating your favourite dumb bands such as Simple Plan and Sum41 on all of the music charts.

Hedley is, quite simply, an original band who has great enthusiasm, energy, and good music. All the members of the band contribute to the overall sound, and their music is amazing. They're not only aimed at teenage girls, because there are a lot of guys who like them, inlcuding me.

Listen to Perfect by Simple Plan, and then listen to Trip by Hedley. If you can't spot the similarities, then I suggest you listen to more music.

it doesnt matter if they are like simple plan. they both suck. their songs are like songs by numbers and they just fill in synonyms. sorry for those who like them. its the truth. theres A LOT better music out there

Hedley is absolutely AMAZING. They may have made a few changes to their music, but it comes from the heart. They are not like simple plan, no two bands are alike they each have their own style. Jacob hoggard has an amazing voice, and if you dont get that, then you shouldnt even be listening to music, music is not always about if it sounds good, its about where it came from, and whats it about.

Canadian music sure has gone downhill. I remember a day when canadian artists were trying to push the envelope in every genre. Trying to express new styles and sounds. but with bands like Nickelback and Hedley... Well it's just brings a tear to my eye, we're the new home of commerically produced music with no meaning or lasting value.

Hedley is a horrible TV-dinner of a band churned out by the greasy music machine. It's got no flavor, no originality, no sustenance and disturbs your bowels.

What are they? 35? The guitar hooks are rarely anything more than 5 chord progressions with cookie cutter studio solos, and the drums are just plain bad. I've NEVER heard the bass in ANY of their songs. So I'm just going to assume it sucks too, probably.

There are so many exciting music genres for kids and teens to explore it's mind boggling. And for the people who are asking for examples, here. I'll do you a HUGE favor.

Hedley is a pop punk band. That is how they sound and thats how they wanna sound. Jacob Hoggard doesn't act the way he does because he thinks thats what rock stars do or to get attention. Its natural, he has ADHD.

Hedley isn't really my cup of tea. It's not that they're not talented, because obviously they are, just not fond of the pop rock genre most of the time,. Their songs are catchy though. And, personal opinion, once you add that pop prefix to rock it's no longer good rock and roll. It's pop rock. But my tastes differ. I know plenty of young people and adults who listen to Hedley. Also they don't reallly sound like Simple Plan, who i think are totally lame. As far as I can tell Hedley at least is not always singing about how no one understands them and parents are so mean for making rules. Life is sooo hard for those fellows eh? Heh heh. Music is for loving, and if Hedley is what you love then "Beat Your Heart Out".
