Akeelah has a strong determination to go all the way to the top.
My favourite part of the movie is when Dr. Laraby figures out how Akeelah knows how to spell. She times herself.
In order for her to go to the Regionals, she lies to her mom. She takes the bus alone.
This movie inspires me to do what I want to do and never let anyone get in your way.

This is one of the Best movies that I have ever seen. It really touched me, and to know that an 11 yr old took to spelling that much. Children these days have no interest. and that is what some of what is wrong with the world. Good Luck to all of the people in the world that loves spelling, and to the people that don't know how to spell that someone might step up to the plate and help them.

it was as pretty good movie if you really care about spelling, but i think that they put an unnecessary romance in the movie.
