Her love of music led her to earn a Bachelor's degree in flute performance at the University of Victoria, and then a Master's degree at the University of Toronto. Radio beckoned, and Katherine completed the broadcaster training program at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
She has been the host of several music programs on CBC Radio including That Time of Night, Symphony Hall and Canada Live.Katherine remains active as a musician, and performs regularly as a singer in the alto section of the Spiritus Chamber Choir based in Calgary. In her spare time Katherine enjoys books, friends, food and wine. To offset any negative effects of those pleasures, Katherine runs half-marathons.
