Corb Lund Live at the Arden; meet Stephanie Dawn and Maddison Krebs!

This week on the Key of A, Corb Lund and his band The Hurtin' Albertans bring songs from Corb's Polaris Prize long-list album Cabin Fever. It's a show they played at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert, recorded for you by CBC Music. Check out the video for the show here.

Jordan Klassen live, WCMA nominees from Alberta

Jordan Klassen started his music career in Calgary. His dreamy folk pop songs and high-energy backing band recently won him the $75,000 Peak Performance 2nd prize in Vancouver. And, he's up for a Western Canadian Music Award, for Pop Album of the Year. You'll hear Jordan Klassen and his 6-piece band live, at the Ironwood Stage and Grill in Calgary.

Plus, Alberta artists make a good showing in the nominations for this year's Western Canadian Music Awards.  This week, you'll get a chance to hear the 3 Alberta contenders for the Urban Recording of the Year award: Joanna Borromeo's Kaleidoscope, Nuela Charles' Aware and Raghav's The Phoenix.


Sled Island Preview, Polaris Music Prize Long List

This week on the Key of A, we'll give you a preview of what to expect at next week's Sled Island Festival in Calgary, with festival Executive Director Maud Salvi and Manager Shawn Petche. They'll tell you what's new this year, and focus in on Alberta artists who'll be playing, including 100 mile house, Faux Fur, Mark Mills and Kris Ellestad.
