Michael Bernard Fitzgerald says Yes! Raghav & Colleen Brown

This week, we give you the chance to relive one of the biggest concerts of last year.

When Michael Bernard Fitzgerald does an album release show, he does it big. Last February for the release of Yes, he booked Jack Singer Hall in Calgary, and brought along a band, orchestra, choir, drum line, dancers and visual artists for a thrilling evening of multi-media celebration!

CBC was on hand to record the proceedings, and we'll bring you it to you on the Key of A, Saturday February 16th.

Next week, February 23rd, we bring you a repeat of one of our favorite episodes from last fall.

You'll meet Raghav. Born and raised in Calgary, he's a star in the U.K. and Asia, but has come home to be closer to his family, and now he's breaking into the North American market with a new cd, The Phoenix.

Plus, Colleen Brown and her band play a release show for her album Colleen Brown's DIRT at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert.

CBC Searchlight, Edmonton Music Awards, Sound Off Calgary!

Lots of industry news for you this week on the Key of A!

CBC Music has turned on a Searchlight to find the next Canadian musical star, and it could be someone you know. Enter by February 14th via your local CBC Radio 1 afternoon show in either Edmonton or Calgary.

The Edmonton Music Awards have announced their 2013 nominations, and we'll give you the chance to hear contenders Nuela Charles and Politic Live. (With lots more to come in the weeks between now and the awards ceremony April 28th.)

And, Music Calgary has invited industry types from across Canada to a special showcase for Calgary bands, called Sound Off! It's happening this weekend -- Friday night at Broken City, and Saturday at the Gateway Lounge at SAIT. Key of A's recording team will be out in force, capturing performances by the likes of Dojo Workhorse, Samantha Savage Smith, Kris Ellestad and more!

Tegan and Sara, Corb Lund, Ben Sures, Karla Adolphe, DFE!

This week on the Key of A, you'll get the chance to sample Tegan and Sara's new album, Heartthrob.
Edmonton singer-songwriter Ben Sures drops in to tell you about his latest project, the "Death Ballad Love Tellers" tour.

You'll find out what Corb Lund is doing at the Glenbow Museum; hear two songs by Karla Adolphe that are inspiring new choreography in Calgary next weekend; and sample a Calgary-Chicago collaboration from hip hop duo DragonFli Empire.

How's that for a packed show? Enjoy!
