Best of Alberta Blues Music

This week, the Key of A's got the blues -- and I mean that in the best possible way! We're going to be hearing blues artists from around the province.

Some will be familiar already to regular Key of A listeners, like Marshall Lawrence, the Dr of the Blues; and Kat Danser, Edmonton's Queen of Swamp Blues.

We'll hear two young singer/songwriters who pay tribute to the blues on their new releases: Jenie Thai's jazz/blues song, "It's Only You (that I want)" and Joe Nolan's "Paranoia Day 36 Blues" from his album Goodbye Cinderella, produced by  Colin Linden.

Plus -- a brand new album called Bought Myself a Hammer by Calgary's Kirby Sewell Band (they're playing release shows this Friday and Saturday at the Ironwood Stage and Grill in Calgary); and music by international Grammy Award-winning blues artist and adoptive Calgarian (and recent Canadian citizen) Donald Ray Johnson.
