New Country music, just in time for Stampede

Howdy Pawdners! Matt Masters has just released a rockin' new album called All-Western Winners, while mother-daughter music force Myrol has been chosen to open for Johnny Reid later this month -- where no doubt they'll perform songs from their new album, Blue Moon Away. We'll sample both new albums this week on the Key of A.

Plus, several Alberta artists are up for Western Canadian Music Awards, and we'll hear nominated releases by Edmonton blueswoman Kat Danser, Edmonton band Wool on Wolves (up for the rock album award), Urban music nominees Manuela and Souljah Fyah, and the two Alberta jazz drummer/bandleaders up for the jazz album of the year award: Tyler Hornby and Karl Schwonik.

All that -- and we listen in on an intimate live set by 21 year old Edmonton songwriter Joe Nolan -- recorded last month at Calgary's Palomino Room.
