Anna Beaumont, Ryan Bourne and The Collapse

This week on the Key of A, a terrific new release from Edmonton jazz singer Anna Beaumont. Her new album, The Doorway, is inspired by the poetry of 13th and 14th century Persian mystics Rumi and Hafiz.

Calgary's Ryan Bourne has a debut album produced by Jay Crocker -- the two of them played together years ago in a band called Recipe From a Small Planet and this new collaboration, SuperModern World Of Beauty, is excellent.
We'll hear some driving country rock from a Calgary band called The Collapse;  I've got an advance copy of the debut EP they'll be releasing in June.
Plus -- the Canadian Folk Music Awards have opened nominations for 2010; we'll hear some of the great Alberta talent that's won or been nominated in the past couple of years, including Maria Dunn, Wendy McNeill, Rob Heath, Corb Lund and Chloe Albert!
