High River Strong, BreakOut West!

This week on the Key of A, you'll hear a new song by High River's Leslie Alexander. High River Strong is an upbeat rock anthem that celebrates the resilient spirit of her home town, and it's available as a "download by donation" to help raise money for the town's flood relief fund.

Then we dive into BreakOut West, which brings musicians from across Western Canada to Calgary Oct 3-6 for a festival, conference, and the Western Canadian Music Awards.

You'll hear from organizer Greg Curtis, and meet Reuben Bullock, lead singer of Reuben and the Dark, who's just signed with Canadian record label Arts & Crafts.

Along with chat, you'll hear songs by performers scheduled to play the festival, including 100 mile house, joceyln & lisa, Cam Penner and Hello Moth. Plus, a tribute to Jann Arden, who enters the Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
