From the city's top police officer to a management position in a controversial mining project.

Kamloops RCMP Superintendent Yves Lacasse is retiring from the force.

His new gig is Manager of External Affairs for KGHM Ajax: the company proposing an open pit mine on the edge of the city.

Superintendent Lacasse joined Shelley in studio to explain his decision.
