Abortion Anniversary

Twenty-five years ago today, the Supreme Court stuck down Canada's abortion law.

What followed was a tumultuous period in history..

In Vancouver... a physician was shot.

And protests and vigils took place all over the city.

One of the doctors who watched it all unfold in Vancouver... ..was Ellen Wiebe.

She continues to provide abortion services at her Vancouver clinic.

She joined Shelley from CBC's Vancouver studio.
