New Tournament for Tournament capital

Kamloops will host a new high performance sports event called the Legacy Performance Games next summer. The hope for the games is that kids who miss out on the Western Canada Summer Games will take part. This summer will be a trial event with the first annual legacy games to be held in 2014. 600 kids are expected to take part this summer. The variety of sports will change with this summers event beginning with seven sports. The games come as a result of a legacy fund from the Western Canada Summer games. Kamloops City council voted to match the 80 thousand dollars coming from the legacy fund.

Lower Mainland snowboarder found safe

A 33 year old man is safe after spending more than two days lost in the rugged mountains outside Vancouver. Sebastian Boucher was reported missing on Sunday after he snowboarded out of bounds at Cypress Mountain ski hill. He was finally found at around dinner time last night, cold and hungry, but otherwise fine.

Unions criticize Translink Seabus decision

B.C. Unions are criticizing TransLink for giving a Dutch company a contract to build a new SeaBus. The transit authority announced on Monday that Damen Shipyards Group would build the replacement vessel for the M.V. Burrard Beaver, which has ferried passengers between Vancouver's downtown and the North Shore since the 1970's. George MacPherson of the B.C. Shipyard Workers' Federation says local shipyards and workers have the expertise to deliver the project.
