The early bird gets the worm at the Kamloops Food Bank.

Folks line up at the crack of dawn to get first dibs on fresh produce, dairy and baked goods -- and that's we met Karen.

Host Shelley Joyce caught up with her on a sunny morning as she was heading home with a cart full of groceries.

Karen graciously invited us into her world-and allowed us to share her story, but requested we not share her last name.
