Eleven per cent of Thompson Rivers University students are aboriginal -- and the university makes a point of encouraging First Nations teens to pursue post-secondary education.

Thursday was Aboriginal Student Transitions Day at the university, and about 125 Grade 11 and 12 students spent the day touring the campus.

They played games, had lunch, and met with mentors who encouraged them to give university a try. Daybreak host Shelley Joyce stopped by to see how many felt inspired by the day's activities.
