Police believe alcohol may have played a role in single vehicle crash.
Three people were sent to hospital with serious injuries Sunday night after a single vehicle crash, south of Kamloops. Kamloops RCMP say it happened just before 8 o' clock on the Coquihalla highway, near the Inks Lake brake check. Police say the driver of the Van lost control causing it to crash. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in the accident.
Fire department rescues stranded hikers.
Three hikers have Kamloops Fire and Rescue to thank for getting them to safety Sunday night. At around 7 o'clock one of the hikers called 9-11 to say they were stuck on a ledge in the Cinnamon Ridge area. The fire department was the first to arrive and crews managed to hike in nearby to where the three where stranded.Using flash lights they managed to lead the three hikers out to safety.
Pro referendum vote means rural fire protection remains the same in Williams lake
The preliminary results for the Williams Lake Fringe Fire Protection Area Referendum show it has passed. That means rural residents will continue to have their fire protection services provided by the Williams Lake Fire Department. 978 people voted in favour of the referendum while 30 people voted against it.
