The big story coming out of the Western Hockey League this week is the major sanctions levied against the Portland Winterhawks.
The Hawks were fined $200,000.
They were also stripped of nine future draft picks, and the team's coach and general manager was suspended for the rest of the year.
What landed the Winterhawks in so much trouble?
Apparently they violated the league's player-benefit rules.
