Volunteers take part in Kamloops homeless count

Volunteers hit the streets later this morning as part of the annual Homeless count in Kamloops. They'll be looking in areas off the beaten track where those without homes might take shelter for the night. Backpacks will be handed out that contain some clothing and toiletries. Last year's homeless count found only 58 people whereas in previous years, the number had been around 105.

The President of the Northern Gateway pipeline project says a lot of the concerns about the  project could be resolved if the province would  work with the company. But John Carruthers says the Premier and government Ministers have turned down every invitation to meet since last February.

Logan Lake residents who need emergency care will have to travel to Kamloops or Merritt today. Interior Health has closed the Logan Lake Emergency Department for friday because of limited physician availability.
