Kamloops RCMP say 9 Kamloops residents have been arrested in a dial-a-dope drug bust.
The undercover operation lasted 8 months. Superintendent Yves Lacasse says a lower mainland based gang was distributing cocaine to well off users in Kamloops. Police seized 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, two rifles, a handgun, ammunition, and 142 thousand dollars in cash. Charges are pending.

A B.C. MLA and former long time police officer has joined the growing grassroots campaign calling for the legalization of marijuana. Liberal Kash Heed, who has said he won't be seeking re-election, has joined the Stop the Violence campaign saying he believes continuing pot prohibition is futile.

The Peace Arch crossing south of Vancouver has been reopened two days after an armed man shot a border officer and then killed himself. Police do not yet know what 32 year old Andrew Crews' motive was, but they do not believe the hit on border guard Lori Bowcock was targeted. Crews, who was a tattoo artist living in Seattle, had texted his mother just hours before the shooting to tell her he loves her, and that he is sorry.
