After two days of pointed questions the BC Government remains unconvinced the Northern Gateway Pipeline is a safe idea. Environment Minister Terry Lake says Enbridge has been unable to give them the kind of assurances that satisfy the concerns of British Columbians.

People in Sicamous are hopeful about a new water treatment technology. Tap water in that community has been too turbid to drink since flooding compromised the water treatment plant in June. But the province has announced a 50 thousand dollar pilot project to test a water treatment technology. If it works, the next step is a 4.5 million dollar water treatment plant.

The Douglas Border crossing into Canada will re-open thursday morning at 8. It was closed Tuesday afternoon when a man drove up to the Customs booth and shot the officer in the neck. He then took his own life. It's still unclear what his motive was.
