From The Producer's Chair

Polsonblog.jpgIt's great to be back in Kamloops.  I first arrived in the late 80's as a kid right out of journalism school.  A few years later I was anchoring the TV News. It was a great start, but after 13 years, I set out for the big city.

I landed at CBC Vancouver producing TV news.  From day one, fallout of the 9-11 attacks, to the Olympics and Stanley Cup riot, there was never a dull moment.

But it was no match for the Kamloops lifestyle. Eleven years on the coast, and the Impossible Dream for many in Vancouver was just as remote:  owning a house, a place to come home to, a yard for the dog, homegrown tomatoes.

So, we bought a house in Kamloops, with no plan beyond that.  And with no idea CBC was about to launch a new Kamloops radio station. I lucked-into the job of Producer, coming full circle.

It feels like a homecoming.

I'm very excited about Kamloops' very own CBC Morning show.  And proud to be part of something that will make the city  even better.

We will be on the air early this fall.
Over the next few weeks in this space I'll keep you posted on our progress.
