The kidnapping of more than 200 school girls in Nigeria a month ago may have happened thousands of kilometres away, but it's a story very close to the heart of one student at UPEI.

Twenty two year old JuJu Iberi is from Nigeria. She's been on PEI for five years, currently studying to become a nurse. The last time she was home visiting family was back in December. Yesterday, Island Morning's Pat Martel talked with Ju Ju Iberi to get her perspective of the events in her homeland.

Women in Public Office

AlisonRedfordIM.jpgAlison Redford's decision last week to step down as premier of Alberta has prompted discussion about women's place in political leadership. In fact, in a very short period of time, Canada went from having a record of six women as premiers or territorial leaders down to three.

The PEI Coalition for Women in government has been watching these developments closely. Dawn Wilson is the executive director. She joins us now in the studio.

Cyberbullying Summit in Charlottetown
