Posted by Bill van Asperen

Poverty is hard to ignore when it's all around you.  And it's especially evident in the small town of Grand-GoĆ¢ve Haiti. Ninety percent of the town was destroyed by the 2010 earthquake. Brittany MacMillan has been to the town twice to help build homes, and hand out food and clothing to people in need. She went with the organization Lifeline Christian Mission.

Now Britanny is fundraising to build a home for her sponsor child, and her family. People can also donate online through "Go Fund me"

This Sunday, Keegan and his Mom Cindy will once again take part in the Hike for Hospice fundraiser. They joined us in the studio along with Hospice PEI Board chair Jodi Swan.

While this is a fun event, it's to support an important cause... the Kids Help Phone. Adam joined Matt Rainnie in the studio to discuss the event and the motivation behind it.

The ball hockey tournament takes place on April 26th at the Brackley Commons. Registration ends April 20th. To find out more visit the Facebook page "ball hockey tournament for mental health" or call 940-6787.
