Every week Island Morning has a series of regular features and contributors.  These items cover it all from business, to technology, movies, to federal and provincial politics.  Here are descriptions of "the regulars."


Jesse Hirsh

The Food Column
Every week, Khalil Akhtar brings a passion for food to you in his column on Island Morning. He takes a deeper look at the food we eat and why we eat it. Khalil tackles issues like culinary nationalism, dying cuisines and new trends, all with a light-hearted dose of opinion.
Our food column airs Tuesdays at 6:40.
Ottawa Report
We offer a view of federal politics direct from Ottawa Tuesday mornings at 7:40. Our CBC reporters and Rob Russo of the Canadian Press review the latest news and offer insight on a number of federal topics.



Columnists Karen Horsman and Diane Flacks talk about issues that every parent can relate to -- from cell phones from kids, to bullying, to how to talk to your teens.  Tune in for their insights into parenting every Wednesday at 6:40.
Matt's Movie Review
Our own Matt Rainnie has always been a fan and critic of the movies. From the Hollywood blockbusters to small local production Matt joins us every week to tell us what's hot and what's not.  Matt's review is heard Wednesdays at 8:25.

Dr. Peter Lin
Peter has been a family physician in the Toronto and Scarborough area for more than 20 years. He also travels around the world delivering lectures on a variety of medical topics. Dr. Lin appears every second Thursday on Island Morning.
Michael Hlinka

Michael Hlinka joined the CBC in the fall of 2002 and offers up a weekly business commentary on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:25.  His regular reports offer listeners insights into, and analyses of, the important business issues of the day.

Political Panel
Our local panel features Summerside lawyer Nancy Key, Eastern Graphic publisher Paul MacNeill and former Liberal MLA Ross Young.  They are entertaining and always full of vim and vigour.  Tune in Thursdays for Island Morning's Political Panel.
New Features:
Island Morning Student Council:  Every month, we will travel to a P.E.I. high school to talk about the issues on the minds of  Island teens. Then we'll share the tape on the air and online. We'll even throw in the pizza!
