Lemmie Chaisson's Musical Legacy

Island Morning Side Banner 10x7 copy.jpgAs the country said goodbye to Stompin Tom this week, people in Souris were dealing with the sudden loss of another musical icon. Lemmie Chaisson passed away on Tuesday after a short illness. His family had only a few weeks to say goodbye. Lemmie really started play with his family members after returning home from Ontario.

He lent his guitar playing and voice to almost any dance, fundraiser or family gathering from Souris to the States. His cousin Peter was alongside for almost every one of those gigs. I talked to him about Lemmie Chaisson's musical legacy.
