Peer Helpers Group Gets Inclusion Award
Everybody wants to feel like they "belong". But sometimes that's not the case. And it can be especially tough in Junior High... having to sit alone while everyone else is having fun together. Some students at Queen Charlotte Intermediate in Charlottetown have been trying to change that. In fact, the Peer Helpers group was recently presented with national certificates of recognition for their work in making classrooms on PEI more inclusive. Island Morning's Pat Martel spoke with some teachers, and the students who have extended a hand to other students... to their buddies.
