Pennies in the Bank and Penny Drives
Charities on PEI are taking advantage of the demise of the penny. The Royal Mint is no longer making them, and charities are urging Islanders to part with their pennies, and put them to a good cause. Deborah Mercer is seeing a lot of those pennies. She's manager of the TD Bank on University Avenue in Charlottetown. She talked with Island Morning's Pat Martel. Steve Bruce caught up with a couple of those groups to see what they think of the sudden competition for Islanders' copper.
