California Cats Find New Homes On PEI
The pet population in the Maritimes is about to take another jump. Last week, an RV arrived in Halifax, carrying 49 abandoned dogs from an overcrowded shelter in California. Within a few days the RV will return, this time carrying more than 50 cats destined for PEI. Some people have questioned the decision, since animal shelters in the Maritimes already have lots of abandoned pets awaiting adoption. Melissa Parsons is a 2nd year student at the Atlantic Vet College in Charlottetown. She and her friends have found homes for all of the cats. Island Morning's Pat Martel reached Melissa to find out more.
