Idle No More - Global Day of Action
Today marks a big day for First Nations across Canada. Aboriginal leaders are scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper even though Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence says she won't be there if the Governor General doesn't attend. Many have been protesting proposed federal government legislation that they say is an attack on aboriginal rights. Today, the Idle No More movement is holding a global day of action to coincide with Harper's meeting. Here on the Island, two First Nations women have organized a "round dance" rally this evening in Charlottetown. Island Morning's Pat Martel spoke to the two women about their rally, as well as the Idle No More movement.
