Tara MacLean - Plan B Protest

TaraMacLeanPlanB.jpgPeople tied to trees is an unusual sight here on Prince Edward Island. But Islanders opposed to Plan B have started using tactics from similar protests in other parts of Canada. For example, there was a groundswell of opposition in the 1990s over the clear-cutting of the old growth forest at Clayoquot Sound in British Columbia. PEI singer-songwriter Tara MacLean was part of those protests in BC. She was charged at the time. She later wrote a song about the experience -- at the request of environmentalist David Suzuki. We reached Tara yesterday at her home in Salt Spring Island.
