Green Cottages

leedcottage.jpgVisitors to P-E-I who want to make sure they don't leave a big carbon footprint can now stay at what are being called the greenest cottages on the Island. Owner Alan Burland is from Bermuda. His two new cottages at Green Island Getaway were just awarded the coveted LEED Gold certification... LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Design.  A few government buildings on P-EI have received that honour. But the cottages are the first residential property on PEI to get the prestigious award.

Alan Burland and his son, Travis arrived on the Island in 2008 and purchased the property in 2009. Island Morning's Pat Martel talked to them about their eco-friendly cottages.
