Too Young to Run
A young marathoner from Prince Edward Island will not be able to take part in this year's P.E.I. Marathon. The event now has age restrictions for the half and full marathon, similar to many other marathons. You can only run the half marathon if you're 16 or older. And you need parental consent for the full marathon, if you're 16 or 17. The rules were put in place after 9-year-old Tyler Heggie ran the full marathon last year. Island Morning's Julia Cook took a walk with Tyler and his dad, Andrew. They both took part in the Saint John Marathon two weekends ago.
Julia also spoke with two of the marathon organizers to find out the reason behind the new age restrictions.
