A SMART Way to Learn
A new program created by the Native Council of P.E.I. is helping people break through barriers they've struggled to get through before. The SMART program stands for Strengthening and Mentoring Aboriginal People for Realistic Training to Employment. Nineteen-year-old Rebeccah Gauthier is one of the first people to try it out. Laura Chapin has her story.
All this month leading up to National Aboriginal Day, we will be featuring stories about outstanding achievements by aboriginal people on Prince Edward Island. Stay tuned for our series "Breaking New Ground" in the days ahead here on Island Morning, 96.1 FM
