Fighting for Veterans

BillHenry.JPGRetired military Commanding Officer Bill Henry from Charlottetown has served in some of the world's worst trouble spots over 35 years in the military.

He was a combat arms officer in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps serving with NATO and U-N peacekeeping troops in troubled areas such as Lebanon and Cyprus.

Now he's fighting to keep Veterans Affairs from closing its district office here in Charlottetown.

He told Island Morning why he wants the office to stay.

Student Council 2.0

threeoaks.jpgA high school in Summerside is looking to engage more students in the school council. Student Council 2.0 is being tried at 19 schools across Canada.

Three Oaks in Summerside is the first school in P.E.I. to give it a try.

The idea is to create several different committees to report back to council.
