Discovery Centre Update

The plans to set up a Discovery Centre for Charlottetown continue.  Now the organizers need some cash from the community so they can apply for government support for the project. Matt Rainnie talked to two members of the organizing committee. Jordan MacIntyre is editor of Island Family Magazine. Beth Johnstone is the Communications Officer for the City of Charlottetown.

Valuing Your Gold

The Great Canadian Roadshow has rolled into town. It's a Toronto business that will cut you a cheque in exchange for your treasures. But there are some things to consider before you hand over your valuables for money. Lindsay Carroll talked to Jill Atkinson, a spokesperson for the Better Business bureau in Halifax. And then she headed forthe Great Canadian Roadshow to talk to the show's manager and some hopeful Islanders.

A New Strip Mall for Georgetown

So far, two businesses have moved into the new Georgetown's new strip mall. Lindsay Carroll dropped into What's the Scoop to meet part-owner Toby Murphy and Gordon Lavers, of the town's development corporation, which owns the building.
