Weather Conditions Prevent Fire Response

FirePlowCBCIM.jpgThe New Glasgow Fire Dept attempted to respond to a Cymbria house fire at 10 PM last night. In normal conditions the drive would take 8 minutes. For three hours the plows the fire crew tried to make it to the location, but the snow and road conditions made it impossible to get past South Rustico. Jason Peters, Fire Chief of the New Glasgow Fire Dept. says the one female got out safetly, but the house was totally lost. Matt Rainnie spoke with Jason by phone.

Alberta Flood Relief - Kory MacAusland

Kory MacAusland is a PEI Red Cross volunteer who's been working with flood victims. He's stationed on a First Nations Reserve, just East of Calgary and that's where we reached him.

Project Lifesaver PEI - Training first responders

ProjectLifesaverPEI.jpgProject Lifesaver PEI provides police, fire departments and other first responders with the knowledge, training and equipment to quickly find and rescue people with cognitive disorders who might wander off or get lost. This life threatening behavior includes those with Alzheimer's disease, Down syndrome and Autism.

Tammy McQuaid, president of the Project Lifesaver PEI Program joined us in the studio. The official launch of Project Lifesaver PEI will take place this Sunday, June 23 in Charlottetown.
