60 x 60 Live!
Saturday May 26, 8 pm, Church of St. John the Evangelist, 154 SOmerset St. West.
Ottawa New Music Creators proudly presents 60x60 Live! This performance features sixty one-minute composition by sixty composers played by a live chamber ensemble. In this continuous hour of music, each piece is matched with a projected still image, either chosen by the composer or the performers. Composers include students from De La Salle High School, members of Ottawa New Music Creators, as well as renowned and emerging musicians from across Canada and around the world. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door for adults; $10 in advance and $15 at the door for students. Tickets are available online.

Troy MacGillivray in Concert
Sunday, May 27, 7:30 pm at the Almonte Town Hall Auditorium, 14 Bridge St. Troy MacGillivray will be in concert with Allan Dewar, Jake Charron and special guests Louis Schryer, Andrea Beaton, Sarah Robinson, Matt Pepin, Terri-Lynn Mahusky and Samantha Harvey. Troy is one of the word's best celtic musicians out of Cape Breton. Tickets are $20, and available at Mill Street Books or at the door. On Saturday, May 26, there will be a Cape Breton Ceilidh and dance with Troy MacGillivray, Andrea Beaton and Allan Dewar at St. Brigid's Centre for the Arts, 310 St. Patrick Street. Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Ottawa Children's Festival

Odawa Festival of Aboriginal Culture
The Odawa Native Friendship Centre is hosting the Odawa Festival of Aboriginal Culture May 26 and 27. This annual event highlights the 36th Annual Pow-Wow. The Festival will feature Aboriginal performances by First Nation drum groups, singers, and dancers in full regalia, Métis fiddling, jigging and storytelling, and Inuit throat singing and drumming. The Aboriginal performers will share their skill and cultural artistic expression with everyone. There will also be many Aboriginal artisans offering a wide variety of handcrafted wares - everything from beading, leatherwork, moccasins, and jewellery. A food court offering a wide selection of traditional Aboriginal foods will operate throughout the event. Children up to 12 and seniors 60 and older are free. Students 13 - 18 are $5/day. Adults are $10/day. Ottawa Municipal Campground, 411 Corkstown Rd. Nepean.
