Tasty Takes On Thanksgiving's Most Unloved Dish: Squash

Let's face it.

Even though some form of squash appears on most traditional Thanksgiving tables, it's never the star — that's the turkey, of course — and rarely anyone's favourite. And it's not hard to figure out why: many of us have bad memories of squishy, overcooked squash casseroles of Thanksgivings past, disastrously high on the water content and low on the flavour.

But it doesn't have to be that way! There are so many different varieties of squash, and so much you can do with each of them. Take this Crispy Tempura Squash, which uses kabocha to make a light and crispy side dish:
