We know. So many evenings end up like this: the TV is on a little too loud, Kid 1 is snacking after coming home from practice, Kid 2 is hogging the iPad and, let's face it, you're just plain exhausted and wondering whether to order in.

But...

Weeknight dinner can be rescued! It's all about what's for dinner and making it an easy decision process. Just keep 3 things in mind:

  1. Make something everyone will like.
  2. Make something end-of-workday appropriate. It's got to be manageable and it's got to work out. This is not the night for artichoke soufflé.
  3. Make something that takes other tasks off your plate. Make a double batch of chicken curry and take the leftovers for lunch. Or make an extra-large steak for dinner tonight and use half of it for a super-fast fried rice tomorrow.
