They say you're either a baker or a cook. We say, why choose? It's true cooks sometimes shy away from baking since it can be less...forgiving, with its precise measurements and that mystery time in the oven where you can't do a lot of prodding and tasting.
Even if you consider yourself a baker, there might be some recipes that stump you, or a dough that just won't stretch or rise. We could probably all stand to brush up on our baking knowledge, and that's what we're challenging you to do.
We'll be posting baking tips, FAQs and tricks to get you out of a bind throughout this challenge on our Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Google+ accounts. And our sister show Best Recipes Ever is participating too and together we'll be posting loads of information to help you develop your skills. Make sure you follow all of the accounts--there'll be a contest or two! Find a round up under the hashtag #CBCbakes. We'll be there with our best fresh bread, cookie, tart, and pie recipes for you to test out your skills.
