Artichokes are the flower of a thistle and are a real treat when they're in season, although you can get your fix year-round by stocking up on the canned variety. They're the perfect pantry staple to keep on hand to add zest to pizzas and paninis, plus their soft texture makes them perfect for puréeing into this addictive Baked Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
