This ooey, gooey, Cheesy Tuna Melt will be a family favourite you can prepare any day of the week!
2 of Stefano’s Bread Buns, sprinkled with salt
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp. chopped tarragon
2 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp. grainy mustard
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
8 slices cheddar cheese
Bread and butter pickles, to taste
Preheat panini press.
To make the tuna salad filling: Add tuna, mayonnaise, tarragon, green onions, grainy mustard, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix to combine.
Assemble sandwiches with slices of cheddar cheese, tuna salad filing and pickles.
Add sandwiches to panini press and cook until bread toasts and cheese melts. Alternatively, if you don’t have a panini press, cook the sandwiches in a grill pan or cast iron fry pan, pressing the sandwich flat with a weight such as a heavy fry pan or a brick covered in aluminum foil.
