A fresh, colourful and creamy cabbage salad that's perfect with grilled meat and for sharing at potlucks.
3 cups red cabbage, shredded
2 carrots, julienned or grated
1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh basil
3 tbsp. mayonnaise
1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. white wine vinegar
2 tbsp. whipping cream (35%)
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
In a large bowl, add red cabbage, carrot, basil, mayonnaise, sugar, white wine vinegar and whipping cream. Toss to combine. Season the salad with salt and pepper. Let stand in fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
