King Square Bandstand Getting First Facelift Thanks To Anonymous Donor

The bandstand hasn't been touched since it was built in 1906. The donation of more than $100,000 will fully renovate the city landmark. Former city Mayor Norm McFarlane will head the project. Patrick Sohy of Avante Garde Construction will do the work.

Cooke Aquaculture Pays Up For Dumping Pesticides

Cooke Aquaculture pleaded guilty to two charges in relation to the death of lobsters in the Bay of Fundy. The deal requires $500,000 in fines and payments. Criminal charges against three executives will be dropped. Matthew Abbott is the Fundy Baykeeper.

Survivor of Two Nazi Camps Speaks At Holocaust Memorial In Saint John

In 1944, Yugoslav Bill Glied and his family were loaded onto a train and shipped away. His father, mother and sister perished. Glied was in Dachau from May 1944 to April 1945. He speaks tonight at the Holocaust Memorial at the synagogue on Leinster St.
