Mecklenburg Buildings Were Monitored Regularly, City

A fire that started in a vacant building on Mecklenburg Street on Sunday left 23 people homeless. But it has long been on the city's radar. Amy Poffenroth is Saint John's chief building inspector, and acting commissioner of buildings and inspection services.

Infected Salmon Cleared For Market By CFIA

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency decided to allow Cooke Aquaculture to continue to raise salmon after they contracted infectious salmon anemia. Previously, those fish would have been culled. Bill Taylor is President of the Atlantic Salmon Federation.

Snow Ban On Rainy Day Nets Hundreds Of Tickets And Towed Vehicles

City officials declared a parking ban Sunday night for snow removal, then it rained all day. One hundred and 69 cars were ticketed, 45 towed. Julie Dingwell lives on Queen Street and was one of the people ticketed. Tim O'Reilly is the manager of pedestrian and traffic services for the city.
