Geoffrey Grantham is native to Halifax, Nova Scotia and paints impressionist landscapes in oils.
He has had training and employment experience in the field of photography and cites his extensive photographic knowledge as having a positive influence in his painting with regards to handling composition, lighting and design elements.
The Nova Scotia landscape provides solid inspiration for Geoffrey with a particular interest in subjects such as low tide seascapes, the effects of winter ice and the Purcell's Cove Backlands.
In addition to studio works, Geoffrey paints on location year-round mostly in the Halifax area. He exhibited his work at Argyle Fine Art in Halifax from 2007- 2010 where he participated in a number of group shows as well as his first solo show in 2009. Since 2011 he has exhibited his work at Swoon Fine Art in Hammonds Plains, where he has had two solo shows as well as work in various group shows. His paintings can also be found at the Art Sales and Rental Gallery at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
